TOBACCO BROWN

About Tobacco Brown

Music began to take shape for Kevan Schell when he was shown how to play guitar and read tablature by his friend Ian Harris at the age of 14. It was 1999. In August, 2000 he moved with his family to Croydon, South London (UK) where he received guitar lessons from Mike Bennet for one year. He would begin writing his first guitar riffs and eventually songs.

In 2003, Kevan went guitar shopping for his friend Brett. He was instructed to buy something cheap. The only guitar that sounded interesting was a beat up old ‘tobacco brown looking thing.’The name stuck and Tobacco Brown has been on a never-ending around the world tour ever since!

Cutting his teeth on the south London pub circuit, he eventually started recording his songs and performing them live. In the summer of 2008, Kevan returned home to Vancouver where he continues to record and perform music.

On January 30th, 2023, he released a four track EP (only on vinyl) titled ‘Four Songs by Tobacco Brown.’
